Michele Alboreto was an Italian racing driver. Following two victories with Tyrrell, he was signed by Ferrari for 1984, where he remained until 1988; he was the last Italian personally contracted by Enzo Ferrari. In his first season, he won at Zolder, becoming the first Italian since Ludovico Scarfiotti in 1966 to win a Grand Prix for Ferrari. In total, he won three races with Ferrari. His best year was 1985: he led the World Championship until mid-season and, after several retirements, finished as runner-up behind Alain Prost.
