Clay Regazzoni was a Swiss racing driver. In 1970, he began his Formula 1 career with Ferrari and immediately finished third in the World Championship; he took his first Grand Prix victory that same year at the Italian Grand Prix in Monza. After a season with BRM, he returned to Ferrari, where he was runner-up in the 1974 World Championship behind Emerson Fittipaldi. He left Ferrari at the end of 1976. Later, in 1979, he scored the British team Williams's first-ever Grand Prix victory.
