John Surtees was a British motorcycle and car racing driver and remains to this day the only person to win World Championship titles on two and four wheels. In 1963, he moved to Scuderia Ferrari and won the Formula 1 Drivers' World Championship for the Italian team in 1964. In the 1966 season with the new three-liter engines, he finished second on the debut of the new Ferrari F1 car at Silverstone, led in Monaco until suffering engine failure, and won the Belgian Grand Prix.
