Engine and transmission

The 3.9-liter V8 produces 720 PS at 8000 rpm and 770 Nm at 3000 rpm. This is made possible by new camshafts, a larger intercooler, reinforced pistons, titanium connecting rods, and Inconel exhaust manifolds derived from the 488 Challenge engine. According to a German source, the crankshaft and flywheel are also lighter, and the intake tract was revised.

Aerodynamics and weight

Most distinctive is the front: air flows through ducts in the bumper to a large vent in the hood, creating downforce over the nose. Underbody diffusers and the rear diffuser are derived from the 488 GTE. In total, the Pista generates 20 percent more downforce than the 488 GTB. Carbon fiber on the hood, bumpers, and rear spoiler, along with carbon fiber and Alcantara in the interior, make the car around 200 lb lighter.

Electronics and performance

The Side-slip Angle Control system operates in conjunction with E-Diff3, F-Trac, and magnetorheological suspension, aimed at improving high-speed handling. According to the manufacturer, the Pista accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 2.85 seconds and from 0 to 124 mph in 7.6 seconds, with a top speed of 211 mph. It was presented on March 6, 2018 in Geneva.
